Cast-Resin Transformer
SINTRA designs, manufactures and tests three-phase cast-resin (dry-type) transformers for industrial and commercial buildings, where fire safety and space matter.

- Phases
- 3
- Rating
- up to 10,000 kVA
- Voltage
- up to 33 kV
- Cooling
- AN, AF with fans
- Standard
- IEC 60076-11
Safe to Install Where People Are
With no oil and a low fire hazard, a cast-resin transformer can sit close to the load center: in high-speed rail, apartment buildings, exhibition centers, offices, hospitals and data centers.
The primary and secondary windings are encapsulated in epoxy resin and cooled by natural air convection, with optional fans. The compact design brings safety, economic and environmental advantages without compromising electrical or mechanical integrity.
- No oil, low fire hazard
- Compact design
- Low load losses
- Low installation cost
- Maintenance-free
- High overload capacity
- Moisture resistant
- Environmentally friendly

Construction
Foil windings cast in vacuum, a step-lap stacked core, and a laser-machined frame.
Low-Voltage Winding
Copper or aluminum foil, turns bonded by high-quality insulating material.
High-Voltage Winding
Foil windings impregnated with specially blended epoxy resin by vacuum-pressure impregnation in a casting machine, then cured in an annealing oven.
Stacked Core
Cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel, step-lap stacked for low no-load loss, low excitation current and high mechanical strength.
Terminals
Low-voltage terminals at the top; variable high-voltage terminal arrangement with off-load taps for voltage adjustment.
Clamp and Frame
High-accuracy laser-machined steel plate, with rollers for bi-directional movement on request.
Cooling and Overload
Natural air convection. With fans fitted, the transformer can be overloaded up to 40% of rated capacity for extended periods.
