How It Works
The SF6 gas-insulated load break switch is a protective device that switches current in the event of an overload fault on overhead lines.
When contacts open or close, current is carried through an arc and a transient recovery voltage forms across the contacts. SF6 gas, with excellent dielectric and arc-quenching properties, extinguishes the arc efficiently even at full-load interruption.
The pole-mounted switch operates at up to 24 kV, manually or motorized, automatically or by remote control. Its stainless-steel enclosure withstands corrosive, polluted and demanding environments.
