Engineered for the Most Demanding Conditions

Power transformers are used at substations and industrial sites where transmission voltages of 500, 275 or 150 kV are converted to 20 kV.

Design and Simulation

Stress and deformation analysis of the tank under vacuum, finite element analysis, and CFD temperature simulation of radiators and fans. How we design

Core and Windings

Grain-oriented electrical steel stacked with a step-lap joint for low iron loss and excitation current. Continuously transposed conductor for primary and secondary windings, net-wrapped for better heat dissipation.

Vapor Phase Drying

VPD removes moisture from the insulation at moderate temperature, preserving the paper’s strength. The tank is then vacuumed and oil-filled for full impregnation.

Low Partial Discharge

Dust-free assembly and careful handling at every stage let our units operate at only tens of picocoulombs of partial discharge.

Tests up to 161 kV

  • No-load loss and current
  • Lightning impulse
  • Line terminal AC withstand
  • Induced voltage with partial discharge
  • Temperature rise
  • Function test of control equipment
  • Zero-sequence impedance
  • Sweep frequency response (SFRA)
  • Oil tests: BDV, DGA, water content

Reference Table, SPLN T3.007

Typical values for PLN substation units. Noise ≤ 67 dB at 0.3 m (ONAN). Temperature rise ≤ 50 K oil, ≤ 55 K winding, ≤ 68 K hot spot.
